World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using less upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level with normal methods.
Casesgg ' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll improve after a future reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a significant risk that the item may be obsolete or even break when it fails; a failed upgrade will cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the chance of failure. Certain upgrades also provide a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.
You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When the player improves an item, the base item is replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will get an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage in that it could cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This can be beneficial however it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very valuable in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of its non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state and the player having to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For instance they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs mentioned above.
